separate lives unlived and unloved

Jose Roxas Leveriza Writes A Poem About Unrealized Romance
love overlooking an abyss astride opposite valley rims

sometimes you see her and sometimes you don't
amongst a sea of undulating faces
amidst a bobbing bubbling throng

fleeting imaginings of her coiffure
that could be her but not for sure
yearning and pining are made easier to endure

she spins and basks in crux of revelry
smiling and beaming to most everybody
but you are lost and can't touch this reality

sorry you can't be a part of her world now
a yawning gap stands your existence apart
social whirls and family trails go depart

keep your eyes closed and trust in mighty destiny
grip reality greedily like its your worst enemy
pray with fervently weeping sobs on bended knee

short repartees on the email get you rattled
emotions unmasked rise eerily to be unbridled
your aims and dispositions blatantly trampled

merging two lives into a relationship test one's mettle
maybe they are too far apart to groove in single bundle
yet you cling to networks of alliances woven in spindle

How many hearts for how many loves
she rises in the totem pole of stars
fluttering hearts like wings of turtle doves
taking off with heavy stirring starts

beloved betrayed stabs you in conscience
like a sharpened knife deeply piercing
biting, clawing all like sheer nonsense
bliss and happiness billow up rising

prompting what's cast aside to struggle vehemently
rights are trampled and up in arms about legality
presentations are made to hoist a parade of progeny
what about the family and memories we hold tenderly

fissures can be bridged and breaks be welded
dupe and original should be fixed and blended
make everything fall in place to toe the line
share the bounty and care and all will be fine
